The Bicycle Coalition of Maine works to make Maine a better and safer place to bike and walk. Founded in 1992, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine has grown into the leading bicycle and pedestrian advocacy group in the state. The Coalition believes all Mainers should have access to bikes and bike education, and we envision a future where Maine’s roads, public ways, and trails are safe and accessible, resulting in cleaner travel options, improved health, and stronger economic benefits for Maine communities.
MOA’s mission is to design, create and care for world-class mountain biking trail systems in the Moosehead area for the enrichment, economic stimulus, and education of our community. Current projects include an in-town Pump Track and a trail system in the Little Moose Public Reserve Lands just outside of Greenville.
NMW multiple use management area is private forest landowners cooperating to provide a safe and pleasant trip in the area. Providing proper management of day use and camping is the main goal.

The Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument encompasses 87,500 acres in Penobscot County, Maine and is made up of 13 parcels of land donated by Elliotsville Plantation Inc. & Roxanne Quimby, owner of Burt’s Bees. It is a monument in progress with limited services, and in the coming years services will be added to the monument in cooperation with our partners. The use of pedal only bicycles is allowed on park roads, in parking areas, and on routes designated for bicycle use. Bicycles are only allowed on public roads and abandoned and administrative roads with two tracks. No bicycles are allowed on single track trails.
Maine Trail Finder is a free, interactive mapping site designed to help Maine residents and visitors find hiking, walking, snowshoeing, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and paddling trails across the state. Our goal is to help people get out, be active, and explore our state’s treasures, both those well-known and more hidden. Detailed trail description pages allow users to view the trails, get essential information, submit trip comments and photos, find nearby geocaches, and a whole lot more.
The Nahmakanta Public Lands lie in the heart of a diverse complex of approximately 500,000 conserved acres that runs from AMC Maine Woods in the south to Baxter State Park in the north. Included in this parcel are campsites, a hand-carry boat launch and over 28 miles of hiking trails, and 9 miles shared use and highly scenic gravel roads open to cyclists, vehicles and ATVs.

Penobscot River Trails is a nature preserve which is privately owned by a family funded Maine registered charitable foundation. PRT offers over 15 miles of year-round multipurpose recreation trails and road that includes biking, hiking, XC Skiing, Snowshoeing and Paddling.
